Our Team was contacted by a Financial Services Company to design and construct a new office for their growing company.

The firm was looking for an open concept and a modern environment that would create a collaborative approach for its expanding team. The ownership team was looking for a place that would provide them with a recruitment edge, and a true home base to build their culture for the future. Our design and development team took the time to sit with the leadership group and really get to understand their business and where they were headed as a company.

From these discussions, our design staff created a layout and style that aligned with their corporate values and direction. Our construction management and general contracting teams then stepped in and took the plans from an idea, into a beautiful office space. With exposed timber beams throughout the office and beautiful glasswork throughout, the office supported a very strong Pacific Northwest feel. Something that was important to the company’s culture and market position.

The office was designed for visitors and staff to feel connected to the outside environment and the beautiful BC scenery, surrounding the office. With the glass and timber frame open concept layout, the natural light was able to be visible and present during the regular 9 am-5 pm workday. The office was a perfect combination and balance between “corporate” and “cabin”. Allowing employees to feel professional yet relaxed to be effective in their various roles. With custom millwork and furniture throughout the overall office, the final presentation was one of our favourites! Hearing the feedback from the staff as they settled into the new space was rewarding and encouraging! We are excited to watch the office fill up with staff as the company takes its next step in the corporate journey.

The Mgmt Difference

There is always a challenge in creating and building a professional workspace that is actually fun and inviting to be in. Often there can be a fine line between an office that is too stiff and boring, and others that are not corporate enough. In today’s business world the traditional 9-5 business environment is changing. Often staff are working unique hours and are connecting the world of social and professional. This was the case with these financial services firms, and our team was challenged to find an innovative solution. Our design and build teams wanted to capitalize on this cultural trend for this firm. We wanted professional, yet personal. We wanted a place where client meetings could occur, and the Friday happy hour would be fun. Working closely with our own in-house design and development team we were able to create a finished product that was a place where staff wanted to do business in, and hang out on the weekends as well! The Mgmt Difference was our ability to utilize our high-quality sub-trade networks and material sourcing. We knew what needed to be done, and were able to balance a budget and design focus.
